Why have I received an email or text saying I’m nearing my credit limit?

The Financial Conduct Authority has been working with the credit card industry to improve the information given to credit card customers and so we’re sending a new alert by email or text to our customers when they get close to their credit limit.

You’ve received the email or text because you’ve hit the point where these alerts are triggered. You’ll only get this message once during any statement month.

We hope you’ll find this message helpful. We have set the point when this message is sent based on your credit limit, and it can’t be moved. But if you want to change how you get this message, or if you don’t want to get it at all, please send us a secure message via Barclaycard online servicing or call us on 0800 151 0900.

If you already have any optional alerts set up on your account, you’ll still get these as normal.
