How do I pay my bill using the Barclays Pingit app?

Barclays Pingit is a smartphone application that allows you to send and receive money using just your mobile.  It’s free, secure and easy to use, and you don’t even have to be a Barclays customer to use it.

To pay your Barclaycard bill using the Barclays Pingit app, simply open the app, select the in-built QR code scanner and scan the QR code on your statement. The QR code is personalised to your bill and contains all the information needed for you to make a payment. By scanning the code, all the relevant details are populated securely and automatically onto your phone screen – all you need to do is amend the amount of the payment if desired and press confirm to send the payment.

Please note that the minimum payment amount is £1 and the maximum payment amount is £15,000.

Funds are sent by the Faster Payments Service (FPS) and will reduce your balance on the same working day if received before 23:45. Barclaycard systems update overnight, therefore the payment will not be visible until the next working day.

To download Barclays Pingit you need to have a UK current account and UK-registered mobile number and smartphone. The app is available to download for Android, iPhone and BlackBerry and works with Android 2.2 and above, iOS 4.2 and above and BlackBerry OS 5.0.
