How do I unlock my Barclaycard PIN?

If you enter the wrong number three times running when making a purchase, even if it's at three separate stores, your PIN will be locked, and you won't be able to use it in-store until it's unlocked.

To unlock and view your PIN in our app:

  1. Select ‘Cards’, then ‘View card details & PIN’ and follow the instructions
  2. Make sure no-one is looking at your device
  3. Select ‘View PIN’
  4. Enter your 5-digit app passcode
  5. Your PIN will appear on your device.

You’ll need to reactivate your Barclaycard before you can use it again – to do this, go to a UK cash machine, insert your card and enter your PIN.

To unlock your PIN at a UK ATM, insert your card into the cash machine and enter your PIN correctly. This will automatically unlock your PIN.

You have three attempts to enter your PIN correctly in a UK cash machine. If you enter the wrong number three times, your PIN will be locked. You'll need to contact our Customer Services Team to unlock your card, or if your card has been retained by a cash machine.

If you find your PIN difficult to remember, or you think someone else knows it, you can easily change it to one that's more memorable at a UK cash machine. You'll need to insert your card and enter the current PIN. Select 'PIN services' from the menu, and then the 'Select a new PIN' option. Choose a PIN that isn’t easy for someone else to guess and avoid using simple number patterns such as 1111, 1234, etc.
