What is Touch ID and how do I use it?

Touch ID is a feature that uses your fingerprint to unlock your device and some of your apps. It replaces the need to use your passcode, although you will still need to set a passcode to turn on this feature.

To use Touch ID you’ll need to set it up on your device. Select ‘Touch ID & Passcode’ from your device settings and tap on add a fingerprint and follow the on screen instructions.

You can then enable Touch ID for your Barclaycard app in the settings screen.

Once you’ve set up Touch ID, you can unlock your device by simply using your fingerprint. You’ll have 5 attempts to log in to the Barclaycard app using Touch ID. If your fingerprint still isn’t recognised, you’ll be asked to log in using your 5-digit passcode.

If you’d like to use your fingerprint to log into the Barclaycard app, you should make sure that only your fingerprints are registered to your mobile device.

If you allow other people to access your mobile device using their fingerprints, please be aware that we consider any transaction(s) made with a registered fingerprint as authorised by you.
