What are gaming transactions?

Gaming transactions include:

• Purchases made to bet
• Buying gaming chips
• Any purchase made at a gambling establishment or on a gambling website
• Buying lottery tickets

These are all classed as cash-like transactions, so you’ll pay a cash interest rate. This is charged daily, from the date we add the transaction to your account, until you’ve repaid your cash balance in full. You’ll also pay a fee, which is always charged as a percentage.  This is typically 2.99%, which is our standard rate, but there are some variations depending on the credit card you have. You’ll find all the information you need in the terms and conditions on your monthly statement.

Please note, that from 14 April 2020 the Gambling Commission are putting measures in place to stop the use of credit cards for gaming and betting in the UK.
